Chanchal Chowdhury in Kolkata web-series ‘Gonodebota’

Director Kamaleswar Mukherjee's series is based on the novels "Gonodebota" and "Panchagram" by Tarasankar Bandyopadhyay. The screenplay is currently under the process of being edited; shooting is scheduled to start by September or October.

In response to being asked why he chose Chanchal Chowdhury for this role, Mukherjee states, “I think Chanchal is best suited for this role. It is not possible to portray this role without strong actors. Early talks about the series have been discussed with him.”

Chanchal Chowdhury states on the matter, “We have had initial discussions. If everything goes well, I'll be able to do the work. However I would not like to make any confirmations before the final talk.”

Kolkata actress Arunima Ghosh is to play the role of “Durga” alongside Chanchal in this series. The platform where the series will be released has not yet been confirmed.
