Sheikh Hasina to sit with Awami League leaders in the USA
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with Awami League leaders and activists in the United States. At the invitation of World Bank President David Malpass, Sheikh Hasina held a meeting with leaders and activists shortly after landing at Washington DC's Dulles Airport on October 28.
Secretary of Washington (Metro) Awami League attended the meeting. Azam, Vice President of Virginia State Awami League. Md. Ahad Hossain, Secretary JI Russell and Virginia State Women's Awami League President Jeba Russell including leaders and activists at various levels.
Regarding the meeting, JI Russell said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina discussed the US visit and the upcoming national elections. Mentioning that the next national election is very important to continue the development of the country, he ordered all the leaders and activists to remain united.
JI Russell said, Prime Minister has asked me to prepare for elections in Dhaka 12 and 17 constituencies in the next elections. I said I am ready to accept any decision of the party. Now let's see what happens next.
Meanwhile, today, May 1, the Prime Minister attended a program organized to mark 50 years of Bangladesh's partnership with the lending institution at the World Bank headquarters. Apart from this, he presented an article in the seminar entitled 'Reflections on 50 years of partnership between Bangladesh and the World Bank'. Where the President of the World Bank also spoke.
Earlier on April 29, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met the Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF). Tomorrow, May 2, high-ranking officials of the US-Bangladesh Business Council will hold a meeting with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. Later, US Chamber of Commerce President and Chief Executive Officer Suzanne P. Clark will meet the Prime Minister.
On the same day, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will attend the US-Bangladesh Business Council President Nisha Biswal's roundtable discussion as a keynote speaker. Apart from this, the Prime Minister will also meet with the next president of the World Bank, Ajay Banga.
