Asef Bari Elected 2nd Vice Governor of Lions District 20R-2
Lion Asef Bari, the former president of the New York Bangladeshi American Lions Club, was elected as the second vice governor of Lions District 20 R-2 by the delegates. The election was held at the 3-day 99th New York State Multiple District Annual Lions Convention from Friday, April 28 to Sunday, April 30 at the Buffalo Convention Center in Upstate Buffalo. More than five hundred representatives from various Lions Clubs of New York State participated in this year's convention. 14 Lion members of Bangladeshi Lions Club participated in the convention.
79 delegates from 37 clubs participated in the 2nd Vice Governor election of District 20 R-2. Various club delegates from Queens, Bronx, Manhattan, Staten Island exercise their voting rights at this convention to elect leaders for the 2023 and 2024 working years.
On Sunday, April 30, the last day of the convention, elections were held for various positions in Lions Multiple Districts and the winners were announced in the afternoon. The elections elected Lion Raymond Smith as District Governor (Elect), Lion Terry Paladini as 1st Vice District Governor (Elect), Lion Asef Bari as 2nd Vice Governor.
New York Bangladeshi American Lions Club Lion Asef Bari Tutul was in the delegation along with former club president Lion Mohammad Saeed, current president Lion Ahsan Habib, 2nd vice president Lion Munmun Hasina Bari, secretary Lion Hasan Jilani, treasurer Lion Moshiur Rahman Majumdar, Lion AKM Rashid, Lion Nurul Azim, Lion Saiful Islam, Lion Mohabbat Akon, Lion Alamgir Khan Alam, Lion Abdur Rashid Babu, Lion Golam and Haider Mukut etc.
Lion Asef Bari expressed his gratitude to the club members for their support in this victory and sought the active support of various associate Lions Clubs including their own clubs in fulfilling their responsibilities.
