Asad Alam Siam new Bangladesh ambassador to Austria
The government has decided to appoint Asad Alam Siam, who is working as the Inspector General of Bangladesh Missions, as the new ambassador to Austria. This information was informed in a message on the Facebook page of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Tuesday.
According to the Facebook page message, Siam, who joined the Foreign Service in 1995, served in important positions in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Bangladesh Missions abroad. Currently serving as the Inspector General of Bangladesh Missions, he served as the Rector of Siam Foreign Service Academy. He was the Director General of the Europe Wing before serving as Chief of Protocol in the Ministry. Siam was also Bangladesh's ambassador to the Philippines and Palau.
Siam previously served as Consul General of Bangladesh in Milan, Italy and Assistant High Commissioner in Manchester, UK. Apart from this, he has performed various duties in Bangladesh Mission in Jakarta and Bangkok.
A graduate of Architecture from Bangladesh University of Engineering, Siam obtained an MBA from the Maastricht School of Management in the Netherlands. Siam is married with one child.
