An initiative to create a database of Bangladeshis in Brunei
The Bangladesh High Commission in Brunei has taken the initiative to create a self-contained database of Bangladeshi citizens staying in Brunei Darussalam. An exchange meeting was held with expatriate Bangladeshis on Thursday at the temporary office of the Bangladesh Embassy.
Bangladesh Ambassador to Brunei Nahida Rahman Sumna presided over the event and people from different classes and professions of Bangladesh were present. A sample form was distributed to all present and instructions were also given on how to fill the form.
The ambassador said that if there is a database, it will be possible to quickly communicate with their families and employers or employers in case of an expatriate's urgent needs. Besides, the Bangladesh government has clear instructions regarding the creation of a database. The ambassador requested everyone's sincere cooperation to advance this program.
