Celebrating Golden Jubilee of Diplomatic Relations in Vietnam
Vietnam celebrated the 53rd Independence and National Day and the golden jubilee of Bangladesh-Vietnam diplomatic relations.
On this occasion, Deputy Foreign Minister Du Hung Viet was the chief guest at the event organized by the Bangladesh Embassy at Dieu Hotel in Hanoi, the capital of Vietnam, on Friday (June 9) local time.
In her speech, Ambassador Samina Naz said, following the path shown by Bangabandhu, under the strong leadership of his privileged daughter, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we are moving forward to fulfill his dreams. Following the path set by Bangabandhu, his daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is leading the country towards progress and development and through sustained high growth in the last 14 years, Bangladesh is now recognized as a role model for development. Investment friendly policies, large internal market, strategically important geo-political location, political stability and hard working skilled people have made Bangladesh a fast growing economy.
He said Bangladesh is currently the 35th largest economy in the world. According to London's Center for Economics and Banking Research, Bangladesh will be the 25th largest by 2035.
At this time, national anthem performance of both countries, discussion meeting, exhibition of photographs and documentaries and dinner were organized.
Madam Le Thuha, member of the National Assembly of Vietnam, was the special guest at the ceremony. Other distinguished guests at the event included the Dean of the Diplomatic Corps, ambassadors of various countries including the ambassador of Palestine and representatives of other countries of the diplomatic corps, representatives of international organizations stationed in Vietnam, the country's Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other high-ranking government officials, Honorable Thich, Standing Vice President of the Executive Council of the Vietnam Buddhist Association. Thanh Hue, imam of Al-Nur Mosque in Vietnam, expatriate Bangladeshis, Vietnamese business representatives, representatives of media and other socio-economic institutions were present.
