E-passport officially launched in Italy

The journey of e-passport has officially started in Italy. The NID card program will also be launched soon. Expatriate Bangladeshis are very happy with this. The journey of the much awaited e-passport for Bangladeshi expatriates in Italy has started from the Rome Embassy.

The Rome Embassy has been able to start e-passport operations within two days of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's announcement during her visit to Italy on July 25.

The ambassador of Bangladesh appointed in Italy officially announced the opening of this program.

The program is organized by the Security Services Division of the Immigration and Passport Directorate of the Ministry of Home Affairs. Director of Security Services Department Saiful Islam and Project Director of e-Passport Brigadier General Sadat Hossain spoke at the opening ceremony.

The e-passport was launched at the Rome Embassy in the presence of service aspirants. Later 6 applicants have to give passport submission receipt.

Expatriate Bangladeshis are very happy with the launch of e-passport from Rome. They think that this will increase the status of Bangladesh in the outside world.

The ambassador of Bangladesh appointed in Italy said that within a week this program will also be inaugurated from the Milan consulate and very soon the NID program will also be launched from Rome.

They believe that the introduction of e-passport will bring various benefits to Bangladeshis living abroad. Expatriate Bangladeshis will save time in exiting and entering Bangladesh.
