Toronto : The picnic town!
Winter is now summer in Canada. And in this beautiful environment of nature, the beautiful parks are becoming crowded with various events. Expatriate Bengalis are now full of festivities at the banquet organized by several district-based organizations every Saturday and Sunday.
Last week ended the folk festival, Path Mela. And the fifth Banglamela is going to be held at Dantonia Park in Banglapara. The Greater Barisal Club Canada's lavish annual banquet was held at Adams Park in Toronto on Saturday (August 5). With the participation of the residents of Barisal and their relatives and friends, the whole park should become a meeting place for Bangladeshis.
Bangladesh Consul General of Toronto Lutfar Rahman, attending the event as a guest, said that Barisal is rich in many aspects. Many famous people were born here. The people of Barisal have contributed a lot to the literature and culture of Bangladesh and the liberation war. Those who are outside greater Barisal are also contributing to the development of Bangladesh by sending remittances in various ways.
Dolly Begum, Member of Parliament of Canada's Ontario Provincial Parliament, was also present as a guest at the event. Apart from this, real estate agents, lawyers, mortgage agents, immigration consultants, TV and newspaper owners and editors, journalists, business people from various professions participated.
Barisal Club General Secretary Biplab Karmkar and President Shamsul Alam supervised the event. Mahbub Osmani, who served as the convenor of the picnic, said that Greater Barisal Club Canada plays a role in more social activities apart from the banquet. At the same time, it plays the glorious role of the homeland abroad. Highlighting the traditions of the country's culture.
