Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib`s birthday celebrated in New Delhi

The 93rd birthday of Bangamata Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib was celebrated at the Bangladesh High Commission in New Delhi, India. On the occasion of celebrating the day on Tuesday, under the leadership of the High Commissioner of the Embassy, Mostafizur Rahman, the officers and employees of the embassy paid tribute to the portrait of Fazilatun Nesha Mujib.

Later, a discussion meeting was held in memory of Begum Mujib in Bangabandhu Hall auditorium of the embassy under the chairmanship of High Commissioner Mostafizur Rahman. The meeting was conducted by Afzal Mehdoot Adnan, Chief First Secretary of the Embassy.

Speeches of President Sahabuddin and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina were read on the occasion. Embassy Minister (Commerce) AK Atiqul Haque read out the President's address and Embassy First Secretary (Consular) Nasir Uddin read the Prime Minister's address. Minister (Economic) Rashedul Amin participated in the discussion.

High Commissioner Md. Mostafizur Rahman said that Begum Fazilatun Nesha has always inspired Bangabandhu behind the scenes in his long political life.

Besides, Bangabandhu worked as a brave inspiration in difficult moments of politics. Begum Mujib's advice has become a part of history even behind the guiding speech given to the nation by Father of the Nation Bangabandhu in his historic 7th March speech.

He said, behind the political struggle of Bangabandhu, Begum Mujib's historical role will remain unforgettable. Bangmata has always inspired Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the liberation movement of the Bengali nation.

A documentary on various aspects of Begum Fazilatun Nesha Mujib's eventful life is displayed in the Bangabandhu Hall auditorium of the embassy. Later, a special prayer was held to pray for the peace of the souls of all the martyrs of the family, including Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, who died on August 15, 1975.
