Expatriates cricket tournament held Germany
The Premier Cricket League 2023 has been organized by BD Tigers Mannheim in Germany. This is the 8th edition of the Mannheim Premier Cricket League, the oldest cricket tournament for expatriate Bangladeshis. Six teams from different cities of the country participated in the tournament this year.
The breathtaking day-long tournament took place on Saturday (August 26) at a stadium in Mannheim. Niaz Habib, founder president of BD Tigers Mannheim, managed and supervised the tournament.
In the Mannheim Premier Cricket League 2023, the expatriate Bangladeshi cricket team Kaiserlauten Royal from the city of Kaiserlauten became the champion and Frankfurt am Main became the runner-up.
German businessman and community leader Dewan Shafiqul Islam was the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony of the tournament. Community leaders Habib Sarkar, Bahar Uddin Chowdhury, Delwar Jahan Jhantu, Salim Reza and others were also present as guests in the event.
Dewan Shafiqul Islam, the chief guest at the prize distribution ceremony, said that such tournaments should be organized more and more to strengthen the mutual bond of Bangladeshi youth living abroad. He thanked the organizing committee and all the Manheim Bangladeshi community for the successful completion of the tournament.
The organizing committee for this year's tournament included Mohammad Nizam Uddin, Asif Iqbal Bhuiyan, Faisal Karim, Ikram Rahman, Mohammad Shaheen, Sajjad Hossain, Faim Shahriar, Mohammad Sumit, Akramul Islam, Raju Hossain, Zaheer Raihan, Saki Khan, Ripon Ali, Ramiz Uddin Hasan. , Mamun Khan and many others.
Apart from sports, this tournament plays an important role in increasing mutual communication and relationship among themselves, said Bangladeshis who participated from different cities of Germany.
This tournament organized with Bangladeshi youths staying in Germany has been held every year since 2013.
