Grand plan for Rabindra festival in New York

The two-day North American Rabindra Utsav is going to be held in New York on May 6 and 7. Organized by Rabindra Sammilan Parishad USA, the partner organizations in the festival are Cultural Association of Bengal-CAB and Bangla World Wide, the largest organization of Indian Bengalis.

In a press conference held at Asha Home Care Auditorium in Jamaica, the organizers said that the two-day festival will be held at the Jamaica Performing Arts Center. In this two-day festival, there are performances of famous Rabindra music artists, exhibition of paintings of Rabindranath, seminars, Rabindra music performances by foreign artists, installation of Rabindra sculptures in the venue.

It was informed in the press conference that it has been decided to give lifetime honors to renowned Rabindra Sangeet artist Amiya Bandyopadhyay and Selima Ashraf, leader of Bangladesh Institute of Performing Arts Bipa in New York. Kolkata music artist Shreya Guthakurta will perform music in the event.

Rabindra Utsav's advisor and weekly Bengali newspaper editor Kaushik Ahmed read a written statement at the press conference presented by Hasanuzzaman Saki, convenor of Rabindra Utsav. Rabindra festival advisor Cultural Association of Bengal-CAB president Randev Sarkar, Annie Ferdous and other organizers were present.
