Honoring the family of martyred freedom fighters in Michigan
Chittagong University Alumni Association of Michigan celebrated the Great Independence Day by holding a discussion meeting and honoring the families of the martyred freedom fighters.
These programs were organized at the Association's own office in Medicine Heights on the occasion of the day on Sunday (March 26) afternoon local time.
The family of martyred freedom fighter Taleb Uddin Ahmed was honored for their sacrifice in the liberation war. His brother Nazrul Islam accepted the award on behalf of the family. Apart from this, former banker Aminur Rashid Chowdhury Kaptan has been honored for his contribution in the freedom struggle.
The program started with the national anthem of Bangladesh. Advocate Salahuddin recited Quran.
President of the Association Syed Moin Dipoor and General Secretary Lutfur Rahman moderated the discussion meeting. Convener of the Independence Celebration Committee Col. (retd.) SM Hasan Iqbal, Advisor of the Association Milton Barua, Atlarge Member Oliur Rahman and Lutful Bari Neon and many others spoke at the meeting.
Meanwhile, Iftar and Doa Mahfil were held in the second phase. Apart from the families of the association, the iftar party took the form of a get-together with the participation of the leaders of various organizations of the community.
At this time, special prayers were offered for the welfare of the people of the world, with the wish for the forgiveness of the souls of all the brave martyred freedom fighters. Maulana Saeed Ahmed led the prayer. Association President Syed Moin Dipu and Secretary Lutfur Rahman delivered the welcome speech at the iftar party conducted by Javed Chowdhury.
