On the afternoon of March 29, the publication ceremony of the book 'The Concert for Bangladesh 1971: United Friends of Bangladesh' was held at the House of Lords of the British Parliament. CBE Lord Rami Ranger as the chief guest at the publication ceremony said, 'The Concert for Bangladesh 1971: United Friends of Bangladesh' book is a remarkable book of history. Through which the western world will learn about the forgotten history of the Indian subcontinent.
The book 'The Concert for Bangladesh 1971: United Friends of Bangladesh' is written by Abu Saeed and Priyajit Debsarkar. The book was published by Swapna '71 Publications.
Sadia Muna Tasneem, High Commissioner of Bangladesh in the UK and Ireland, said that the concert has a special role in raising funds and forming global public opinion around the world to raise awareness about the suffering and genocide of the people of Bangladesh during the liberation war. This event changed the course of concert history forever. Author Priyajit Devasarkar presented various parts of the book to the guests present in the House of Lords.
Member of Parliament (Shadow Minister for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs) Catherine West said the book is essential for young historians and the next generation of British-Bangladeshis growing up in the UK. He assured that the book will be listed in the British Parliament Library and other leading libraries in London.
