2 Bangladeshis killed in crane accident in Malaysia
2 Bangladeshi workers were killed in a hydraulic tower crane accident in Malaysia. The identity of the deceased is not yet known.
The chief of Perak Fire and Rescue gave this information in a statement on Thursday (April 6) morning.
According to the country's state news agency Bernama, a hydraulic tower crane overturned in a landslide on the side of a construction quarry in Simpang Pulai, Malaysia yesterday at 8:17 p.m. Meanwhile, 2 Bangladeshi workers were killed by being crushed under the tower crane. However, the police did not disclose the names and addresses of the 2 Bangladeshis killed.
According to the fire and rescue team, the age of the deceased is between 30-40 years. On reaching the spot, the rescue team removed the tower crane with the help of advanced technology equipment and recovered the body after about an hour of effort. The rescue team said that the deceased were working at the accident site.
The head of the Perak Fire and Rescue Department said that the bodies of the victims have been handed over to the local police for further action. The rescue operation ended around 10 pm.
