Salat al-Qayam prayer started in Saudi-Kuwait
Salat al-Qiyam prayers are starting in Arab countries of the Middle East including Saudi Arabia-Kuwait. Starting from Tuesday night, this prayer will continue until the end of Ramadan. Some mosques will start at 12 midnight and some mosques will start this prayer from 1 am.
Along with local citizens, religious pilgrims from different countries including expatriate Bangladeshis participate in this prayer.
It is known that the devout worshipers in the Jamaat mosques stay awake at night and offer Salatul Qiyam prayers and there is a separate arrangement for women. This holy prayer is performed in the last decade of Ramadan. The worshipers pass the night by reciting Quran, reciting tasbeeh, praying zikr. This prayer is followed by the recitation of a long kerat and finally ends with the Witr prayer.
A total of eight rak'ahs are offered in two rak'ahs and a long kerat is recited in each rak'ah and ends with the Witr prayer.
All mosques in Kuwait have CCTV cameras to perform Salat al-Qiyam prayers, patrolling by security forces to avoid untoward incidents.
