Awami League organized iftar mahfil in Maldives
Iftar prayers and Iftar mahfil were held under the initiative of Maldives Awami League. It was held on Wednesday (April 12) in the hall room at the local Lemongrass restaurant in the country's capital Male.
Maldives Awami League joint general secretary. High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad was present as the chief guest under the chairmanship of Maldives Awami League President Dulal Madbar moderated by Nur Alam Rintu.

High Commissioner Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad highlighted the various development activities of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's government in the speech of the chief guest at the Iftar Mahfil function and stressed the importance of sending remittances to the country through legitimate channels. He also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is working to make Bangladesh Sonar Bangla, to speed up the process, expatriates should work together.
Apart from this, the iftar ceremony was attended by - the advisor of the Maldives Awami League, expatriate businessman Md. Mujibur Rahman, Md. Kauchar, Director of NBL Money Transfer Limited. Hannan Khan Kabir, CO Masudur Rahman and senior staff Haider Ali Sabu, president of ESWA. Zakir Hossain, President of Maldives Jubo League. Russel Ahmed Sagar and all the officials and employees of the embassy, various professional expatriates and prominent businessmen of Maldives, leaders of Bangladesh Society and Awami League organizations participated in the iftar mahfil.
