Celebrating Independence Day in Italy
The Independence Day of the country has been celebrated in Venice, Italy through various events.
On Tuesday (April 25) afternoon, a discussion meeting was organized at Venice Bangla School on the occasion of Italy's 78th Independence Day. School committee president Syed Kamrul Sarwar presided over the organized meeting.
He said that during World War II, Nazi forces occupied large parts of Italy and a fascist regime was established under the leadership of Benito Mussolini.
Kamrul said Mussolini's authoritarian rule is a dark chapter in Italian history. As a result of this rule, hellish pain came down in people's public life. Poverty spread throughout the country. But the Italian soldiers did not give up easily. With the help of the Allies, on April 25, 1945, the fascists were overthrown and the independence of the country was restored.
Palash Rahman, adviser of the school committee, said that the current governance system of Italy, which stands with the tradition and civilization of about three thousand years in mind, is quite critical. The ultra-nationalist attitude of the right-wing government is reminding people of fascist regimes. But Julius Caesar's Roman Empire once spread the light of civilization throughout Europe.
He said the current Italian government should be more humane about migrants. Cruel treatment of those who come to Italy risking their lives to earn a living is an act of anti-civilization in Italy. Which should be remembered by Chief Minister Zarya Meloni.
The meeting was attended by Sohela Akhter Bilabli, Sohel Mia, Nur Alam, Md. Kamruzzaman Ujjal, Abdur Rauf, Shahidul Islam Sumon, Suraiya Akhtar, Dilruba Zaman, Sumon Sarkar etc.
