Tuition fee discrimination for foreign students in Canada

In the multicultural country of Canada, there is a huge gap between tuition fees for domestic students and those from abroad. Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has responded to whether there is any action by the Canadian government to eliminate discrimination in the same course.

A survey of foreign students studying in Canada over the past five years found that while foreign students spent about $36,100 a year on tuition fees, Canadian students spent only $6,800.

In this context, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau directly said that the government will give priority to Canadian students in the discussion of student gatherings held in various places in Canada in the last three months. In that case only students willing to pay high tuition fees in Canada can study in Canada. His government has no plans to reduce tuition fees for foreign students.

He said education system is made affordable only for Canadians who are committed to the country.

On the other hand, there is a difference between students from abroad and Canadian students. Want to save on tuition fees for Canadian students in exchange for high tuition fees for foreign students? In response to a student's question, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did not directly answer, nor did he dismiss the question.

It should be noted that the Trudeau government has provided various facilities for foreign students. These include increased job opportunities, provision of working tuition fees and later citizenship.

President of ABM College of Canada. Md. Baten said millions of people around the world are willing to give up everything to come to Canada. Although the tuition fee is high for foreign students in this country, the government of this country has given them an opportunity to stay in the country after their studies.

Columnist and sociological analyst. Mahmud Hasan said, the interest of international students in Canada is increasing due to the abolition of the 20 working hours per week requirement for foreign students, the opportunity to work indefinitely, and the simplification of permanent immigration policies after studies.

In this regard, Subrata Kumar Debnath, a student of the Department of Electrical and Software Engineering of the University of Calgary, said, as international students, our demand to the government is to reduce the tuition fee a little, so that it is a little easier for our families to bear the cost of education.

Foreign students who come to study in Canada have the opportunity to acquire permanent residence and citizenship in this country after their studies, as a result of which affluent parents do not hesitate to pay high tuition fees for their children's better living conditions and higher education – experts say.
