Nazrul Jayanti celebrations in London
The 124th birth anniversary of poet Kazi Nazrul was celebrated in East London, known as the Third Bengal, like many countries around the world, with equality and traitorous words, songs, recitations and utterances of secularism.
Last Saturday (May 27) afternoon at the Brady Art Center in East London, the festival was organized by Nazrul Parishad UK, organized by Nazrul lovers' organization 'Jhinge Phool'.
It was a bright summer sun and weekend in Britain on Saturday afternoon. On such days, expatriate Bangladeshis usually go to the park or the beach with their family members and friends. On a sunny afternoon in Britain, the Brady Art Center in East London was filled to the brim with Nazrul lovers.
The program was started by the main sponsor of the organization. Through welcome speech by Mohammad Nurul Alam. Pandit Chirjeev Chakraborty, Farzana Sifat Sapna, Akash Sultan, Chanchu Dev Gupta Joyit, Sharmishta Guha and Sadia Afroz Chowdhury performed music under the direction of British popular music artist Sadia Afroz Chowdhury and under the direction of Sheikh Naz and Tanzina Noor-e Siddiqui.
Arunima Kumar and Aishwarya Gupta performed the dance. Poems were recited by Urmi Mazhar, Sumana Bhattacharya, Manas Chowdhury and Tanmaya Tanya. Ustad Yusuf Ali Khan, Parag Hasan, Hasan Ahmed and Mayukhjit Chakraborty assisted in the musical instruments. Child artistes Chiara Das, Uday Das, Ahana Bhowmik and Ayanti Bhowmik of Sarathi Arts performed music on the occasion.
Various aspects of national poet Kazi Nazrul Islam's struggling life and various aspects of his unique creations have come up in songs, dances and poems organized by 'Jhinge Phul'. This is a different attempt to present the diverse life of Kazi Nazrul Islam in different ways. Samsul Zaki Swapan was in the sound of the entire program. And in the spotlight was Mithu Azad. The event gets a different dimension with the gathering of various musicians and people who love Nazrul from different walks of life.
