Immigration seminar organized by Comilla association in London
According to the data of Manpower and Employment Bureau, Comilla district is at the top in the export of manpower in Bangladesh. From 2005 to 2019, about 1 million migrants left Bangladesh for 172 countries around the world from Comilla district alone, out of which at least 5,000 aspirants were victims of fraud in various ways.
Expats of Comilla in the UK organized a seminar titled 'Migration and Youth: Opportunities and Challenges' recently in London to encourage the export of skilled manpower to Europe or the Middle East countries. The speakers in the seminar said these things. Freedom fighter Omar Farooq, former deputy commissioner of Comilla, was present as chief guest in the event, freedom fighter Mohammad Enamul Haque was present as special guest.
The event was presided over by Ruhul Amin, Chief Executive of Cardiac Care UK. Comilla paper editor Abul Kashem Hridoy was present as the main speaker in the seminar. Barrister Monirul Islam Manju, Barrister Kazi Ashikur Rahman, Solicitor Anwar Khan, Immigration Expert Bidhan Goswami, Bangladesh 'Law' Association UK President Shah Alam Sarkar, Ion TV newsreader Barnali Barna, Tepantar Group were present as panelists led by Ekatar TV Special Representative Tanveer Ahmed. Speaking at a seminar on immigration organized by Comilla residents in London, speakers emphasized on English language skills and adequate training of the immigrant population.
Ruhul Amin, chief executive of UK care home Rhythmic Care, said that employment opportunities for Bangladeshis as carers in the UK are less than in other countries. The only reason for this is lack of adequate training and weak English language. Although there are job opportunities in England's health sector and care sector, Bangladeshis are being deprived of job opportunities only due to lack of skills.
Speakers also emphasized on establishing international quality training centers to increase manpower export.
During the discussion, the speakers informed about the initiative of public signature program from London to strengthen the demand for implementation of division in the name of Comilla. Comilla Sadar MP Muktijoddha A. A. M. They requested everyone's cooperation in this public signature program centered on Bahauddin Bahar's visit to London. Later, on behalf of 'Expets Comilla', the guests were presented with floral greetings by Ashalam Ahmed, MDJ Khokon and Khaledul Islam.
In the last part of the program, famous musician Shampa Dewan of Bilet performed the music.
