New Executive Committee of Portugal Bangla Press Club
The new executive committee of Portugal Bangla Press Club has been constituted. In the committee, Daily Star Portugal contributor Russell Ahmed has been made the president and ATN Bangla UK general secretary Shahid Ahmed has been made the general secretary.
The new committee was formed at a general meeting of the organization's executive committee at a local restaurant in Lisbon on Monday.
Portugal Bangla Press Club is the Portuguese government's registrar organization for Bangla media journalists living in Portugal.
Besides, Shah Mohammad Tarveer has been made the organizing secretary of the committee. Later, a full committee with 18 members was formed based on everyone's opinions and suggestions.
Farid Ahmed Patwari, the recent former president of the organization, presided over the meeting and conducted the election.
The advisor of the organization is the current expatriate Belal Ahmed and the number one member of the executive committee is Farid Ahmed Patwari of Dhaka Post and Roni Mohammad of Dhaka Times and Bangladesh Daily.

It is to be noted that Portugal Bangla Press Club has been serving Bangladeshi community and local news in Portugal and Bengali speaking media worldwide since its establishment in 2021 with the registration of the country's government. In addition to this, he has worked with various local development organizations including the Portuguese government on communication development, citizen journalism and digital literacy. The newly elected committee expressed its determination to contribute to the development of its members and community by making the activities of the organization more dynamic.
