Maldives High Commissioner visited the workplace of expatriate
Bangladeshi illegal workers working in the city of Kuludhufushi in the Maldives sought help from the mayor of that city, Ahmed Atif. Besides, the mayor of that city has been asked for assistance in protecting the rights of Bangladeshi workers, entertainment and treatment.
A delegation of the High Commission led by the High Commissioner of Maldives Rear Admiral SM Abul Kalam Azad visited Kuludhufusi Island and Nolivaranfaru Island in Maldives from June 8 to June 10. During the visit, the High Commissioner sought assistance from the Mayor of Kuludhufushi. Haikshin Councilor (Labor) Sohail Parvez and Welfare Assistant Al Mamun Pathan were present on the occasion.
Kuldhufusi City Mayor Ahmed Atif held a meeting with the High Commissioner. In the meeting, the mayor listened attentively to the problems of the Bangladeshi workers and gave assurances.
The High Commissioner visited Nolivaranfaru Island on June 10. Expatriates working in housing projects and agricultural projects in the island visited the workplaces and residences of Bangladeshis.
