Youth Bangla Cultural Foundation held Baisakhi fair in Geneva
A day-long Boishakhi Mela 1430 was celebrated in Switzerland by Youth Bangla Cultural Foundation. The event was organized on Sunday (June 11) in Geneva, Switzerland.
At the end of this colorful procession, various stalls of Bangladeshi sarees, bangles, toys, traditional pitha-puli, foska-chat and food items were opened for the audience and participants. Besides, cultural programs are also organized.
Mohammad Sufiur Rahman, Permanent Representative of Switzerland and Honorable Ambassador of the Government of Bangladesh was present as the chief guest at the event. His wife Shamsia Begum was also present. Youth Bangla Cultural Foundation Switzerland President Zebunnesa Khan Shashi and organization patron and Swiss Awami League General Secretary Shyamal Khan organized the event.
Sadat Hossain, Shahidul Alam Swapan, Gouricharan Rimi, Samiran Barua Jishu, Rumi Barua, Segupta Mahmud, Robin Barua, Usari Das, Tuli Barua, Jolly Chowdhury, Sasim Gauri Charan, Milli Hossain, Shaukat Hossain, Tanya Alam, Imran Ahmed Alia and many others. Besides, about 35 child artistes participated in the dance organized by Paulmi Dutta.
At the end of the program, the Economic Minister of Bangladesh Embassy gave 10 prizes in the lottery and letters of appreciation to the participating child artists. Alamin Pramanik, First Secretary of Expatriate Welfare Ministry Kamrul Islam, Patron of the organization Anwarul Azam Majumdar Shaheen and President Shashi Khan.
In this day-long event, expatriate Bengali families working in Bangladesh Embassy and various international organizations, children, teenagers and expatriates of various ages participated in this event with their families and friends. Swiss Awami League President Nazrul Islam Jamadar, Mohammad Mohsin, Ayan Junaid, Tarek Al Mahmud and expatriates from different cities of Switzerland participated and cooperated in the event.
