Switzerland Awami League wishes Sheikh Hasina in Geneva

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina arrived in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday afternoon to attend the 'World of Work Summit Social Justice for All' held in Switzerland. A regular Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight carrying the Prime Minister and her entourage landed at Geneva International Airport at 5:10 pm local time (9:10 pm Bangladesh time).

When the Prime Minister arrived in Geneva, he was greeted with flowers by Switzerland Awami League in the hotel lobby. President of Switzerland Awami League Z. congratulated the head of the government of Bangladesh. Nazrul Islam and General Secretary Shyamal Khan.

Prime Minister's younger sister Sheikh Rehana and All European Awami League President M Nazrul Islam were present at this time.

Prime Minister will meet UN High Commissioner for Refugees, UNHCR chief Flipo Grandi on June 14 during his stay in Geneva. Later, the Prime Minister will meet the President of the Swiss Confederation of Nations, Alain Berset.

After the meeting, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on knowledge and skills enhancement between Bangladesh and Switzerland may be signed. In the afternoon, the Prime Minister is scheduled to address the plenary of the World of Work Summit 2023 at the Palais de Nations.

When Sheikh Hasina reaches there, the ADG and Regional Director of ILO will welcome her. A red carpet will be laid from the gate to the venue and a guard of honor will be provided. Bangabandukanya President of Malta Dr. George will also meet Vela. He will later meet with ILO Director General Gilbert F. Houngbo.

The Prime Minister will attend a dinner hosted by the DG for high-level dignitaries at ILO headquarters in the evening.

He is scheduled to attend 'A Talk at the WWF' on June 15 at the World Economic Forum (WWF) office after a meeting with WWF founder Professor Klaus Schwab. There he will address the event titled 'New Economy and Society in Smart Bangladesh' organized by the World Economic Forum (WEF). In the evening, WTO Director General Dr. Okonjo-Iewala will meet the Prime Minister at his residence. In the evening, Switzerland will attend the civic reception organized by Awami League.

The next day, June 16, at 11 am (local time), Bangabandhukanya will leave Geneva International Airport for Dhaka. He is scheduled to return home on June 17.
