Bangladeshi E-Passport service launched in Italy
Bangladesh government has decided to launch e-passport service in Italy. The Embassy of Bangladesh in Rome has informed in a circular that the e-passport service will be launched from next September in the Embassy of Italy in Rome and the Consulate in Milan.
As a result, Bangladeshis living in Italy, Serbia and Montenegro will come under the e-passport service. The expatriate-friendly government led by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is committed to delivering all civic services to the doorsteps of expatriate Bangladeshis.
'E-Passport for All' is an important step towards building a Smart Bangladesh by 2041. The Embassy in Rome has been in regular contact with the related institutions of the government including the Department of Security Services of the Ministry of Interior regarding the launch of this highly anticipated service in Italy. As a result, it is expected that the e-passport service will be launched in Italy next September.
As soon as the specific date of e-passport service is decided in the embassy, it will be published on the website and Facebook page of the embassy.
