7 Bangladeshis burnt d e a d in Saudi Arabia

Nine people died in a fire at a furniture factory in Hufoof, Saudi Arabia's Dammam. Seven of them are Bangladeshis. The incident of fire occurred in the industrial area of Hufuf city in Saudi on Friday (July 14) evening local time. This has been confirmed by the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh.

According to the embassy, a fire broke out in the evening (during Maghrib prayers) at a furniture factory in the industrial area of Hufoof, Saudi Arabia, located about 350 km from Riyadh. Nine factory workers died. Seven of them have been initially identified as Bangladeshis. The identity of the other two is not known. Three of the dead are said to be residents of Natore district. The bodies have been kept at Hufuf King Fahd Mortuary.

The initially identified Bangladeshis who died in the accident are Arif Shahadat (passport number- 2535176339), Barek Sardar (passport number- 2247439850), Shakeel Pramanik (passport number- 2505378568), Saiful Islam (passport number- 2529922326), Ruman Pramanik (passport no. - 2472470588), Firuz Sardar Ali (Passport No.-2493217968) and Rob Hossain (Passport No.-24377954260).

Two Bangladeshis injured in the fire accident are undergoing treatment in the burn unit of King Fahad Hospital. The Embassy also said that the representative of the Labor Welfare Wing of the Bangladesh Embassy in Riyadh is closely following up on the overall issue of the dead and injured Bangladeshis in the accident.
