Bangladeshi pitha festival held in Melbourne
The Bangladeshi Winter Pitha Festival was held in Melbourne, the capital of the state of Victoria, Australia. On July 23, Melbourne's South East Bangla School organized this pitha festival.
At the pitha stalls in the festival grounds, there were various types of pithas with different flavors including winter traditional pithas of Bangladesh like Puli, Chitai, Vapa, Nakshi, Pakan, Patisapta, Kanta, Shamuk, Juri, Malai pitha.
The festival also included a mesmerizing cultural performance with the participation of local Bangladeshi artists. Rabindra Sangeet, Lalangiti, Palligiti, poetry recitation, dance and fashion show were enjoyed by the festival goers. Along with local Bangladeshis, Melbourne's well-known Bangladeshi face Kamrul Hossain Chowdhury and Bangladesh's former cricketer Aminul Islam Bulbul were also present at the festival.
