Human chain at UN to demand elections under caretaker government

Bangladesh Nationalist Party organized a human chain program in front of the United Nations headquarters in New York on March 21st (Tuesday) at 3 pm local time to present a memorandum to the United Nations Secretary General demanding the independence of the judiciary and a fair and acceptable election under an impartial caretaker government in Bangladesh and the people's right to vote.

Habibur Rahman Salim Reza, Convener of New York City South BNP, presided over the human chain program. In the chief guest speech, Abdul Latif Samrat thanked the leaders of New York City South BNP for presenting the memorandum at the United Nations headquarters and organizing the human chain program in the current crisis situation of Bangladesh and also for the independence of the judiciary in Bangladesh, the election of the National Parliament under an impartial caretaker government and the permanent release of Khaleda Zia. He announced that the struggle will continue until this is done.
