Karu`s reception in Toronto
The Canadian Alumni Association of Rajshahi University (KARU), the organization of former students of Rajshahi University living in Canada, has felicitated Ayub Ali Khan, President of Rajshahi University Alumni Association (RUA) Dhaka unit and member secretary of 'RUA's Conference Preparation Committee'.
The reception was held at the Dhansindi restaurant on Danforth Avenue in Toronto on Friday afternoon (March 31), local time in Canada.
Ayub Ali Khan, a guest at the reception in the presentation of 'Karu' member Akhtaruzzaman Swapan, said, "I feel like I have returned to the campus of Rajshahi University known as 'Motihar' after coming to distant Canada and meeting a bunch of former students of my university." Those of us who have studied in Rajshahi University, this university is connected with the soul.
He said, the light and air of this university is still illuminating the lives of all of us. Seeing so many alumni in a busy and important city like Toronto this afternoon, I feel again and again that the bond of brotherhood that Rajshahi University has bound us with will never be tarnished. I believe that all the current and former members of Rajshahi University will live as members of one family forever.
He expressed the hope that the Canadian Alumni Association of Rajshahi University (KARU) will continue its activities in distant Canada and will keep in regular contact with the central organization of alumni of the university 'RUA' and jointly take effective programs in the future.
Apart from Ayub Ali Khan, President of Karu Mostafiz Khan Pappu and General Secretary Suman Zafar spoke at the reception. After the event, former students of Rajshahi University participated in Iftar.
Note that Rajshahi University established in 1953 is the second oldest university in Bangladesh. Covering an area of 753 acres, the university has 10 faculties and 60 departments in one of the country's most scenic attractions. Currently, the number of students in this university is about 40 thousand. The students of this university contributed significantly to the social, cultural and political life of the country before and after the independence of Bangladesh. The alumni of this university spread all over the world are working with reputation in the international arena and are constantly contributing to the development of Bangladesh. Notable alumni of this university live in Canada.
