Election of Bangladeshi doctors held in Sydney
The new executive committee of the Bangladeshi Doctors Association has been elected in Sydney, Australia. The committee was elected by the members of the Bangladesh Medical Society of New South Wales, one of the main organizations of Bangladeshi doctors working in the country. After almost a century, after various dramas, the organization's new committee election was held on March 28 and 29. 98.1 percent of the total voting members of the organization voted.
Reza-Imon panel BMS Unified won the election. Blacktown Hospital's senior staff specialist and assistant professor was elected as the chairman of the committee after receiving 61 percent of the total votes. Reza Ali. Apart from this, all the other candidates of the Reza-Imon panel were elected with majority votes.
Halim-Jaseem panel fought against Reza-Imon panel for victory. The other elected members of the Reza-Emon panel are vice-president Dr. Nazmun Nahar Rina, Dr. Mehdi Farhan and Dr. Jasmine Shafiq, treasurer Dr. Mohammad Fazle Rabbi, joint editor Dr. Sheikh Badruddoza Shiplu and Dr. Mujahid Hasan Shovan, organizing secretary Dr. Dr. Masud Parvez, Education Secretary. Iqbal Hussain, publishing editor Dr. Sheikh Haider Tapu, social welfare and cultural secretary Dr. Rokeya Fakir Kaya.
Other elected members are Dr. Russell Ahmed, Dr. Israt Hafiz Belli, Dr. Russell Chowdhury, Dr. Riton Das, Dr. Ayesha Abedin Esha, Dr. Shamim Reza Farooq, Dr. Fahima Sattar Jhumi, Dr. Rubaiyat Mahfuz, Dr. Farah Naz, Dr. Chowdhury Beg Papon, Dr. Mihir Roy, Dr. Mohammad Pavel, Dr. Al Naim Sarwar, Dr. Asif Alam Sajjad, Dr. Chowdhury Sharif Sajjad, Dr. Sadia Sharmin.
