How expatriates spend Ramadan?
The most important and virtuous month for Muslims is the holy month of Ramadan. The holy month of Ramadan comes as a cause of mercy, forgiveness and salvation for the believer. Like the people of the country, expatriates also try to complete all the necessary preparations for Ramadan. Complete preparation in all physical, mental, material and habitual areas.
In the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Qatar, including mosques in Arab countries and areas inhabited by immigrants, public and private initiatives distributed iftar packets throughout Ramadan.
Apart from this, local people distribute iftar items on individual initiative. Most of the time after Asr prayer, many people are seen distributing Iftar to pedestrians by car. Iftar packets contain dates, water, juice, fruit, meat and biryani.
Expatriates from different countries such as Bangladesh, India, Egypt, Sri Lanka collect these iftar materials to avoid the hassle of preparing iftar at home after duty. Besides, many eat iftar while sitting in the majlis. Again, many expatriate friends and room members organize Iftar by themselves.
Besides, expatriates come forward to help each other during Ramadan. As a result, the difficulty and trouble of eating and drinking is reduced to a great extent.
During Ramadan, Bangladeshi hotels and restaurants have a variety of local recipes including chickpeas, onions, beguni, jilapi and haleem. Expatriates thronged Bangladeshi hotels to buy their favorite food while fasting before Iftar. During the month of Ramadan, Iftar is organized by various social and political organizations in Bangladeshi hotels and restaurants.
According to the expatriates, in the country like Arab countries, the wealthy and voluntary organizations of the society should organize Iftar for all categories of fasting people.
