Meanwhile, Bangladesh High Commission said that about 16 thousand new passports have been issued in the last 8 months. At the same time, they are working to solve any problems of the workers.

Sohel Parvez, secretary of the Bangladesh High Commission appointed in Maldives, said, "We constantly publish information on passport related matters, such as what things will be required to get a passport, through posts on Facebook. Also, whenever we interact with expatriates, we inform them repeatedly about everything. We think, if expatriates are aware, then they can get their own passports by paying the government fee.

In addition, Bangladesh High Commission Office said that the workers who came to Maldives without giving their fingerprints at the Manpower Employment and Training Bureau in the country are also getting the Wage Earner Welfare Board card subject to payment of fees.
