2 Bangladeshis arrested in Singapore with Indian passports

Two Bangladeshi citizens were not saved after crossing to Singapore with Indian visas. They were deported from Singapore's Changi Airport and later detained in India.

Later, the Indian police filed a case under the Foreigners Act against the two Bangladeshis. In a report on Saturday (April 8) night, the Indian media The Hindu reported this information.

According to the report, immigration officials at Changi Airport caught two Bangladeshi nationals traveling to Singapore with valid Indian visas last Friday. After alerting the Indian authorities, the immigration officials sent the two Bangladeshis back to the Kempegowda International Airport in Bangalore, the capital of Karnataka.

According to The Hindu, the accused are the two Bangladeshi nationals named Liaquat Ali and Rizaul Sheikh. Later on Friday, officials at the Kempegowda airport intercepted the flight as it landed in Bengaluru.

Preliminary investigation revealed that these two Bangladeshis came to India illegally across the border and obtained Indian passports illegally through agents. However, earlier they stayed in several metro cities of India.

Besides, the two accused named Liaquat Ali and Rizaul Sheikh obtained valid ID cards through fake identity cards with the help of an agent before applying for Indian passports.

After the arrest, the police booked them under various sections of the Foreigners Act and the Passport Act. Apart from that, the police have also taken the two people into custody for further investigation.
