Canada`s immigrants express deep concern of 10 prominent people
In view of the notice of cancellation of Mars procession on Pahela Boishakh, 10 prominent Canadian immigrants are expressing deep concern.
They are rhymer Lutfar Rahman Riton, poet Saifullah Mahmud Dulal, linguist Dr. Shishir Bhattacharya, painter Rakib Hasan, lyricist Nahar Monika, journalist Suman Rahman, Shahidul Haque Mintu, Mahbub Osmani, Subrata Nandi and George Roy.
In a joint statement, they said, this notice is a conspiracy against the traditional Pahela Boishakh of Abhaman Bengal. At the same time, the universal festival of welcoming the Bengali New Year struck. Which is a shadow reflection of the Pakistani ghost. Hence they condemned and protested this purported notice.
Like every time, Mars procession has been organized on April 16 (Sunday) at Banglapara, Danforth, Toronto. Eminent people in the statement called upon Bengalis in the diaspora to participate in the procession.
