Qatar to enjoy an 11-day Eid Al Fitr holiday
Qatar, a country in the Gulf region of the Middle East, has announced an 11-day public holiday to celebrate this year's Eid-ul-Fitr. The announcement was made in a notice issued by the Amiri Diwan, the office of the country's head of government, on Tuesday.
The emirates of Kuwait and Qatar are governed by the 6 countries of the Gulf region of the Middle East, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Bahrain, Kuwait and Oman. According to Tuesday's government notice, Qatari government officials and employees will enjoy the Eid holiday from Wednesday, April 19 to Thursday, April 27. Then after Friday and Saturday weekend will join work on April 30.
The holiday will be effective on all ministries, institutions and the governor of the central bank of the Government of Qatar. However, the governor of the central bank will decide how many days the other employees of the central bank and commercial banks will spend their holidays.
Eid-ul-Fitr is the main festival of Muslims around the world. This festival is celebrated on a date of Shawwal after a month of fasting in the month of Ramadan. This day is recognized as a public holiday in Muslim countries as well as in many non-Muslim countries.
