DB seizes 125 pieces Yaba, detains dealer

A drug dealer named Ismat Ali (58) was arrested with 125 pieces of yabas in Moulvibazar in a special operation of District Intelligence Branch (DB).

He was arrested from Hamarkona area of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila on Thursday (May 4) at 10:30 pm.

Based on secret information, a team of DB Police led by SI Azizur Rahman Naim conducted a raid at the homestead of the detained Ismat Ali at Hamarkona Sheikhbari No. 01 Khalilpur Union of Moulvibazar Sadar Upazila and arrested him.

A total of 125 pink Yaba tablets were seized from the arrested person's body search, including 25 pieces wrapped in white polythene from his shirt pocket and another 100 pieces from the pocket of his lungi with black zippered polythene.

The arrested Ismat Ali Moulvibazar is the son of deceased Abdul Mannaf of Hamarkona village of No. 1 Khalilpur Union of Sadar Upazila. He has been involved in drug trade for a long time. There are several cases against him under the Narcotics Act in different police stations.

A case under section 10(a) of Table 36(1) of Narcotics Control Act 2018 has been registered against the arrested person in Moulvibazar Sadar Model Police Station.
