If there is not enough salt in the food, the food becomes unpalatable. No matter how good the cooking is, knowing how to use salt is important. If it is more or less, that food will not fit in anyone's mouth. But there are many of us who add extra salt to our food. And this practice is blocked by doctors. What is the reason for this? Eating excess salt causes various damage to the body.

More salt means more risk
Salt is made from two ingredients. They are sodium and potassium. According to the World Health Organization, the salt we eat is high in sodium and low in potassium. Consuming too much sodium can make people suffer from high blood pressure. From there the risk of stroke and heart attack increases. Calcium deficiency also occurs in the body due to excess salt intake. As a result, bones weaken before age.

Dangers of eating too much salt
Those who have the habit of consuming excess salt, it is important to know these things. People who eat raw salt with food cause many problems for the body. Consuming raw salt can cause problems like swelling of the body. Various studies have shown that eating too much salt can increase the risk of stomach cancer.

How much salt to eat a day?
The World Health Organization says that most of us are not aware of salt intake. Do not consume more than 5 grams of salt per day. To put it simply, remember that you should have a little salt in every meal. Consuming too much of it can be harmful to health.

Avoid ready-to-eat foods
Nowadays most of the people are turning towards ready to eat food. No one wants to spend extra time on food preparation due to daily busy schedule. Therefore, eat foods that can be prepared in a short time. Due to which the demand of packaged food in the market is very high. Bread, cheese, preserved meats and snacks contain 80 percent salt, which is harmful to the body.

Reduce salt intake gradually
If you have a habit of consuming excess salt, do not cut it down suddenly. Rather, reduce the amount gradually. Remember, the less salt you eat, the better for your body. Although it may seem impossible now, it won't take you more than a week to break this habit.
