Robots assure humans: No job theft or rebellion

At the world's first human-robot press conference, humanoid robots assured humans that they would not steal jobs or rebel against them.

Responding to inquiries from journalists, a group of nine remarkably human-like machines convened at the "AI for Good" conference held in Geneva last Friday.

Robots present they expect to increase in number and help solve global problems, and would not steal humans' jobs or rebel against them.

Grace, a medical robot, who was dressed in a blue nurse's uniform, said: “I will be working alongside humans to provide assistance and support and will not be replacing any existing jobs.”

Another robot, effective at engaging facial expressions, Ameca claimed: “Robots like me can be used to help improve our lives and make the world a better place. I believe it's only a matter of time before we see thousands of robots just like me out there making a difference.”

When questioned by a journalist, Will Jackson, whether it planned to rebel against its creator, Ameca replied with: “I'm not sure why you would think that. My creator has been nothing but kind to me and I am very happy with my current situation."

On the other hand, a rock star robot singer in the band Jam Galaxy, decorated with purple hair and sequins, had a different answer.

“I don't believe in limitations, only opportunities,” it said, with nervous laughter. “Let's explore the possibilities of the universe and make this world our playground.”

Another robot named Sophia initially expressed the belief that robots could be superior leaders to humans. However, it later amended its statement upon disagreement with its creator, suggesting that humans and robots can collaborate to "achieve an effective synergy."
