ChatGPT technology will also be used in cars

General Motors plans to use ChatGPT's technology as part of a broader collaboration with Microsoft Corporation. An official of the company told Reuters this information last week. GM Vice President Scott Miller said in an interview that from now on everything will have ChatGPT.

Miller added that the chatbot would typically be used to access information about how to use features in the car, such as owners' manuals, garage door code program functions, or calendars.

This information was first published on a website called Semaphore. The American carmaker is said to be working on a virtual personal assistant using ChatGPT's AI model.

Earlier this year, Microsoft announced a multi-billion dollar investment in OpenAI, the owner of ChatGPT. The company says it plans to add this chatbot technology to all its products.

Microsoft, like other major tech companies, is developing operating systems from infotainment systems and automated driving. It is trying to integrate this technology into operating systems that control battery performance and multiple vehicle functions.

GM previously worked with Microsoft to accelerate the commercialization of driverless vehicles in 2021.
