Google is rolling out `blue ticks` for Gmail!
From Twitter to Meta, every major social media platform now offers a blue tick for its subscribers. While some receive it organically, others need to pay for it. Google has recently introduced a similar initiative and is now offering a blue tick to users who have verified themselves on BIMI (Brand Indicators for Message Identification).
As expected, the search-engine giant’s email service is currently offering a blue checkmark to brands. They need to verify their brand logo on the BIMI platform to add a blue checkmark to their profile. According to Google’s official blog, this new feature will help individuals identify and differentiate legitimate senders from impersonators.
This feature has been implemented as part of the Rapid Release and Scheduled Release domains and will be rolled out to major businesses within three days. Google has confirmed that every Google Workspace customer, legacy G Suite Basic and Business customer, and even users with a personal Google account are eligible to get a blue checkmark.
To verify your logo on BIMI, you need to set up your account on BIMI, which requires domain information. You then need to upload your brand logo in SVG format and register it as a trademark. Finally, apply for a VMC (verified mark certificate) to add a blue checkmark next to your brand logo on Gmail.
