Google Pixel 8 set to launch on October 4
The newest addition to Google's signature smartphone series, Google Pixel 8, is set to launch on October 4, as per sources such as CNET and TechCrunch. Google has announced an unveiling event on October 4, where the tech giant is expected to reveal their newest "Pixel portfolio of devices".
The upcoming Google event is set for October 4, in New York City, at 10 a.m. ET. Earlier this year, Google hosted their annual I/O event, where they unveiled a plethora of new products such as the Pixel Fold, Pixel 7a, and Pixel Tablet. Following this trend, reports suggest the company is ready to announce the highly anticipated Google Pixel 8.
Alongside Pixel 8, Google is also rumoured to announce their newest wearable, Pixel Watch 2, as per Tech Crunch. Last year, Google released their first 'true Wear OS device', which followed Google's acquisition of Fitbit in 2019.
As per leaks, the Google Pixel 8 looks similar to the Pixel 7 in size and design and will feature Google's new signature Tensor G3 chip with nine cores, built on the Arm Immortalis architecture. According to a Threads post by Google Pixel's official account, the Pixel 7 Pro is also expected to be released on October 4 this year.
