Karnataka: Modi invokes `The Kerala Story` to target Congress
Launching an all-out attack against Congress, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday criticised the Opposition shielding terrorism for its vote-bank. While campaigning in poll-bound Karnataka's Ballari, Modi cited 'The Kerala Story' film and said that Congress is opposing the film made on terrorism and is standing with terror tendencies.
“Fore vote-bank politics, Congress has nurtured and given shelter to terror...I am surprised to see that Congress has succumbed to terrorism for the sake of its vote bank. Can such a party ever save Karnataka?” said Modi.
Invoking the recent controversial film 'The Kerala Story', Modi said that it is based on a terror conspiracy. “It shows the ugly truth of terrorism and exposes terrorists' design. Congress is opposing the film made on terrorism and standing with terror tendencies. Congress has shielded terrorism for the vote bank,” said Modi, reported ANI.
“Congress builds false narrative for the sake of winning election on the basis of money power. Congress's manifesto is all about bans....BJP manifesto is a 'sankalpa patra' with a roadmap to make Karnataka number one,” said PM Modi at Ballari.
Modi also alleged that when BJP made a tribal woman as Presidential candidate, Congress had opposed her. “Congress did not strengthen the tribal community, neither did it respect their culture,” said Modi.
Even in the recent Sudan rescue operations, Congress did not stand with the country. “Congress wanted to do politics on Sudan issue and take advantage of the situation in the polls as many were stranded there from the state,” he said.
Modi stressed on the importance of security, law and order required in the state. “It is important for Karnataka to remain free from terrorism. BJP has always been tough against terrorism,” said Modi.
Congress makes fake narratives and surveys for winning politics and they attempt to mislead the voters in the state, he added.
