Red alert tropical cyclone for Mocha-23

The Global Disaster Alert and Coordination System (GDACS), an international organization for disaster warning, has issued a red alert regarding the direction of a strong cyclone approaching the coast of Bangladesh and Myanmar.

Cyclone Mokha-23 could have a major impact on human life due to the wind speed, vulnerability and vulnerability of people to the cyclone, the agency said in a warning.

GDACS also said that two and a half million people in Bangladesh and Myanmar are at risk of being affected by this cyclone. However, the agency has warned that Bangladesh will suffer more than Myanmar.

The wind speed of the cyclone can reach up to 241 kmph. Which according to their calculations is a Category-4 cyclone. Apart from this, the international organization that keeps track of natural disasters has said that there may be 8 feet high flood due to the effect of cyclone.

Meanwhile, earlier on Saturday (May 13) night, Bangladesh Meteorological Department reported in special bulletin number 16 that Cyclone Mokha is located 525 km south-southwest from Cox's Bazar seaport. Which was earlier 630 km away.

According to the bulletin, the extremely strong cyclone was located 605 km south-southwest of Chittagong seaport, 525 km south-southwest of Cox's Bazar seaport, 625 km south of Mongla seaport and 565 km south of Payra seaport. It will move further north-northeast and intensify. Then on Sunday (May 14) between 9 am and 6 pm, Cox's Bazar-North may cross the Myanmar coast. By midnight today, the impact of the front of the super cyclone may begin in the coastal areas of Chittagong and Barisal divisions.

Maximum sustained wind speed is 180 km/h within 74 km of the cyclone center. Which is increasing up to 200 km in the form of gusts or gusts. The ocean is very rough in the vicinity of the super cyclone center.

Cox's Bazar sea port has been asked to display distress signal number 10. Chittagong and Payra seaports have been asked to display distress signal number 8. Besides, Mongla seaport has been asked to display local warning signal number 4. The coastal district of Cox's Bazar and its outlying islands and chars will be under the 10th distress signal.

The bulletin also informed that the coastal districts of Chittagong, Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Barisal, Bhola, Patuakhali, Jhalkathi, Pirojpur, Barguna and their nearby islands and islands will be under the 8th emergency signal. Due to the strong cyclone's leading edge and excess of pressure difference, the coastal districts of Cox's Bazar and Chittagong and the low lying areas of their outlying islands and chars may be inundated by wind driven tides 8 to 12 feet higher than the normal tide.

Coastal districts of Feni, Noakhali, Lakshmipur, Chandpur, Barisal, Bhola, Patuakhali, Jhalkathi, Pirojpur, Barguna and the low lying areas of their outlying islands and chars may be inundated by wind driven tides 5 to 7 feet higher than normal tide.
