Russian President Vladimir Putin visited Crimea on Saturday. The peninsula was occupied by Russian forces in 2014. But now the news has come out that Putin has also gone to Mariupol, the occupied territory of Ukraine. In a report on Sunday (March 19), the Russian state news agency Tass News reported this information. According to the agency, Putin entered Mariupol by helicopter. Then drive to different parts of the city. He also talks to common people.

In May 2022, Russia captured Mariupol after defeating the Ukrainian forces.

Since then, the Black Sea region has been under Russian control. At that time, the troops of the Azov Brigade of Ukraine put up a strong resistance in the city. But they were trapped and captured by the Russian forces.

Meanwhile, the International Criminal Court on Friday issued an arrest warrant against Russian President Vladimir Putin on charges of committing war crimes by forcibly taking Ukrainian children to Russia.

A day later, on Saturday, Putin visited the Crimean peninsula. There he visited Sevastopol, the largest city on the island. At that time, the governor of Sevastopol, along with the appointed officials of Russia, were present. In 2014, he went there to attend the 9th anniversary of the annexation of Crimea.
