BUET Alumni Night held in Canada

BUET Alumni Night was held at South View Community Center under the initiative of BUET Alumni Association Calgary in Canada, with the firm conviction of how to contribute to the development of Bangladesh's growth along with the development of expatriate engineers and new immigrants in the field of employment and their own development in the future.

Meanwhile, South View Community Center was full of BUET alumni and their family members living in Calgary. President of the committee Shukuruzzaman Tuhin gave a welcome speech greeting everyone present. The general secretary of the committee Mosharraf Hossain and other leaders of the committee were present at the time.

During the ceremony, former graduate engineer of BUET Mohammad Qadir was awarded an honorary crest by the BUET Alumni Association Calgary for being elected as the chairperson of the Calgary branch of the Association of Professional Engineering and Geoscientists of Alberta (APEGA).

Escaping from the monotony of work in frozen Canada, members of the expatriate Buet Alumni Association celebrated with a reunion of sorts.

The visiting guests were mesmerized by the reminiscences of the former students and their family members with poems, songs and enchanting cultural programs. The presence of a large number of BUET Alumni members livened up the entire event.

Dinner was followed by a musical performance by local Calgary band Kaya. The community center was abuzz with wonderful music and melody. The presence of Buet's youth and seniors and their family members turned into a gathering. Instantly the community center was transformed into a whole Bangladesh.

The program was presented by Farzana Sultana Soma.

Calgary's BUET Alumni Association President Shukuruzzaman Tuhin said, "After a long time, I was very happy with the whole family." Such events take us back to the days of yesteryear. Hope everyone has a good day ahead.

Finally, the general secretary of the organization, Mosharraf Hossain, expressed gratitude and thanks to everyone and announced the end of the program.

The media partner for the entire event was Bangladeshi daily newspaper 'Samkal' and Alberta's first Bengali online portal 'Prabas Bangla Voice'.
