Germany occupied by USA: Putin

Russian President Vladimir Putin has claimed that the US still maintains its occupation of Germany. He also noted that even decades after surrendering at the end of World War II, Germany was still unable to act independently.

President Putin made these comments in a Russian television interview. Reuters reported this information in a report on Wednesday (March 15).

President Vladimir Putin has said Germany's response to a pipeline explosion in the North Sea suggests the country is still under "occupation", according to reports. He claims that even after decades of surrender at the end of the Second World War, Germany is not able to work independently.

In an interview on Russian television, President Putin also said that European leaders are practically scrambling to lose their sense of sovereignty and independence.

Many sanctions have been imposed on Russia for the past one year mainly because of the attack in Ukraine. Also, under pressure, the Western world has almost stopped importing energy from the country. Purchasing natural gas was particularly difficult.

A pipeline named 'Nord Stream 1' has supplied gas directly from Russia to Germany. 'Nord Stream 2' was ready but was never launched due to the war. Both pipelines were damaged by mysterious explosions under the Baltic Sea on 26 September 2022.

There has been speculation in various quarters that Russia or the United States were responsible for such activities. Citing the report of the US intelligence agency, the New York Times claims that a pro-Ukrainian group may have carried out a coordinated attack on the two pipelines.

However, there was no evidence that the Ukrainian government was involved in the incident. Earlier, two countries near the scene, Sweden and Denmark, conducted an investigation but were sure about the intentional explosion, but could not find the identity of the perpetrators.

Reuters reports that Western countries, including Germany, have reacted cautiously to the investigation into last year's explosion at Russia's Nord Stream gas pipeline. Western countries say the attack on the pipeline was deliberate. However, these countries have refused to say who is believed to be responsible for the attack.

Several Russian news agencies reported that in an interview with the Russia-1 TV channel, President Vladimir Putin said, "The fact is that European politicians themselves have publicly said that Germany was never a fully sovereign state after World War II."

He also said, '(After World War II) the Soviet Union eventually withdrew its forces from Germany and ended Moscow's occupation of the country. But as everyone knows, that was not the case with Americans. They continued the occupation in Germany.

President Putin said the explosions at the Nord Stream gas pipeline were managed "at the state level". He dismissed the idea as "absolute nonsense" while many suggested that a pro-Ukrainian group, Autonomy, was responsible for the attack.

According to a recent New York Times report, a group of miscreants went to the scene in a small boat and prepared to detonate an expert diver. The team also had an explosives expert. They are probably Ukrainian and Russian nationals. No British or US nationals were present. However, it is not yet clear who organized and financed the operation.

German investigators believe that a total of five men and one woman participated directly in the operation in exchange for money. All of them had professionally forged passports. According to a joint report by three German news organizations, they chartered a boat from a Polish company using fake identities.

They set sail from the city of Rostock, in northern Germany, to the Danish island of Kristiansand. The boat is returned without being cleaned. As a result, investigators easily found traces of explosives on the cabin table. American and German investigations have yielded some hints, but no clear evidence has yet been found.

According to experts, it is also possible that the miscreants deliberately left some clues to mislead the investigators. In other words, in addition to attempts to blame the Ukrainian government or security forces for the assassination, the possibility that Ukraine is really involved in the incident cannot be ruled out.
