UAE`s Sultan Al Neyadi becomes first Arab spacewalker

UAE astronaut Sultan Al-Neyadi walks out of the International Space Station (ISS). He was the first Arab astronaut to walk in space. This Arab person walked in space for about seven hours.

The country's astronaut Sultan Al Neyadi came out of the International Space Station (ISS) wearing a spacesuit with the flag of the United Arab Emirates on Friday. The objective is to spacewalk. This is more precisely called extravehicular activity. At that time, the sleeve of his spacesuit was flashing a single message - 'Impossible is possible.'

Sultan, however, was not alone, he was accompanied by NASA's well-known astronaut Stephen Bowen on this spacewalk of more than six hours. They were assisted from inside the ISS by two NASA flight engineers, Woody Hoberg and Frank Rubio. The scene of this mission has been broadcast live by NASA. As Sultan al-Neyadi first stepped outside the space station, Hoberg could be heard saying — "Congratulations Sultan, you're going to make history today."

Al Neyadi and Bowen were given two jobs by NASA in addition to walking outside the space station. The first is the installation of multiple solar panels on the ISS for the future. That work is duly done.

Scientists and technicians at NASA's Johnson Space Center in Houston praised Sultan's perfect hand. But they could not complete the second task. It was to remove a defunct antenna from the ISS.

Sultan joined NASA's SpaceX Crew-6 mission on March 2. This is his first spacewalk. On the other hand, this is Bowen's eighth spacewalk. On Friday, however, Bowen was the first to step outside the ISS. Then Sultan Al-Neyadi came out at 5:39pm UAE local time. The two astronauts were in constant communication from NASA's center in Houston. They were told to check their glove and helmet absorption pads every 90 minutes to see if they were dry. At the sight of even a single particle of water, there was an order to return inside the ISS. Also, attention was paid to their oxygen levels and battery power.
