Muslim woman in hijab assaulted in Berlin subway station
A Muslim woman wearing a hijab was assaulted at a subway station in Berlin, Germany. He is basically a victim of racist attacks. The local media has given such information.
It is said to be the latest racist attack targeting foreign-looking people in the German capital. Hijab-wearing Muslim women have been assaulted in the country before.
Berlin police confirmed that a 20-year-old Muslim woman suffered minor injuries at the Rathaus Neukölln subway station. Basically, a man abuses the woman and physically assaults her. The racist then tried to remove her hijab. At that time, he was injured due to the pulling of the Muslim woman's hair.
Police said the suspect yelled racial slurs before fleeing the scene. An investigation is underway to find out the identity of the attacker.
Germany has witnessed rising racism and Islamophobia in recent years. Extremist ideas and philosophies have spread in Germany due to the propaganda of far-right (Christian) groups and parties. These extreme racists are exploiting the refugee crisis to incite violence and hatred. They are also fearing immigrants.
Authorities recorded at least 569 anti-Islam incidents and crimes in 2022. These include verbal and physical attacks, threatening letters and incidents of arson targeting mosques.
