Bangladeshi Visa Information Center opened at Kolkata Railway
Bangladesh Visa Information Center has been inaugurated for the first time at Kolkata Railway Station. Through this, a Bangladesh Visa Information Center was opened for the first time in a railway station in India.
On Monday (March 13), the center was inaugurated by the Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh, Andalib Elias, who was appointed to Kolkata. Eastern Railway Divisional Railway Manager Deepak Nigam, DU Digital Global Chairman of leading visa processing company Rajendra Rai, First Secretary (Press) Ranjan Sen, Bangladesh Consulate in Kolkata, Councilor (Education and Sports) Riazul Islam, Councilor (Consular) were present on this occasion. This information center has been set up to facilitate the visa application and visa process for Indian citizens who wish to visit Bangladesh for business, tourism or any other purpose. This information center has been opened next to the Bangladesh Ticket Reservation Counter located on the first floor of Kolkata Railway Station.
This center will provide a wide range of services including filling visa application forms, taking photos, collecting and distributing passports. It will be managed by DU Digital Global.
It is reported that DU Digital Global, a private visa processing company, has already opened two Bangladeshi visa application centers in West Bengal. One of which is located on the first floor of Infinium DigiSpace, CP Block, Sector 5, Salt Lake, and the second one is on the second floor (Shop No. 30 and 31) of International Market, Panni Tank Mor, Siliguri.
Indian citizens will be provided with all kinds of information and assistance in the application process for obtaining a visa from this information center. After getting detailed information from here visa applicants can apply for Bangladesh visa from visa application centers in Salt Lake and Siliguri. No appointment is required before submitting the application.
Deputy High Commissioner of Bangladesh Andalib Ilyas said that the number of people traveling between the two countries has increased a lot after Covid. As a result, this information center has been opened keeping in mind the convenience of those who travel to Bangladesh from India.
Kolkata station is the only way to reach Bangladesh by rail from Kolkata. Kolkata-Dhaka 'Maitri Express' and Kolkata-Khulna 'Bandhan Express' run from this station. As a result, this station is very important. Eastern Railway Divisional Railway Manager Deepak Nigam said that this visa information center has been launched keeping in mind that importance.
