Taliban restricts women from outdoor restaurants in Afghanistan

The ruling government of Afghanistan has imposed various restrictions on Taliban women. It has previously shut down women-run radio stations. Now again, the Taliban government has imposed restrictions on women going to restaurants.

This directive was issued in Afghanistan's Herat province on Monday (April 10), prohibiting women from entering restaurants that have gardens or green gardens. This information was reported by the American media Fox News.

The Taliban imposed the restrictions after complaints that boys and girls were congregating in these places and that girls were not wearing the hijab. However, this directive will be applicable only in Herath province.

Baz Mohammad Nazir, the official of the Herath Directorate of the Ministry of Implementation of Afghan Sharia Law, told the media that this rule has been implemented only in Herat. However, not all restaurants have restrictions on women's entry. Only restaurants with green gardens or parks are banned. Because in these places boys and girls have free association.

The official claimed that they were forced to take such a decision after receiving multiple complaints from Islamic figures and common people.

Azizur Rahman Al Mujahir, head of the Herath Directorate of the Ministry of Sharia Law Implementation, said about the ban, "It was actually a park, they named it a restaurant, and boys and girls were together here. Now these are fixed. In addition, the Taliban administration will increase surveillance in the parks where boys and girls go.
